Define the boundary before adding features
SecretBankX is local-first. Your information begins on your own device, and the core experience keeps working without a network connection. A temporary server problem should never prevent you from accessing your own records.
This is not a marketing line. It is a constraint that shapes architecture, interaction, and product decisions. Whenever a feature asks data to leave the device unnecessarily, we first ask whether its value is worth changing that clear boundary.
Privacy is not a paragraph in Settings. It is the result of how a product works by default.
Sync should be a choice
Using multiple devices matters, so SecretBankX offers optional encrypted iCloud sync. But syncing is not a requirement. You can stay on one device or enable it when it fits your needs.
Making sync optional requires careful offline behavior, conflict handling, and recovery. These details rarely appear in marketing, yet they determine whether a tool remains trustworthy over time.
Security should be understandable
Security products often accumulate jargon. We would rather make the important states clear: where information is stored, which devices take part in sync, when verification is required, and how backup and recovery work.
Confidence comes from stable, predictable behavior—not from more warning dialogs. You should not need to understand every implementation detail, but you should always understand what your choices mean.
Maintenance is part of the product
Software that stores important information cannot depend on short-lived novelty. OS upgrades, device migration, data compatibility, and recovery become more important than a shiny feature after years of use.
